Employment Eligibility Verification

Form I-9, E-Verify and Criminal Background Checks

All new employees must have a Form I-9, E-Verify and Criminal Background Check completed before starting their first day of work.

Form I-9 & E-Verify

Form I-9 is a United States Citizenship and Immigration Services form. It is used to verify the identity and legal authorization to work of all paid employees in the United States, and its use was mandated by the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.

E-Verify is a program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Indiana state law requires IU participates in E-Verify to confirm a new employee’s eligibility to work in the United States.
