How to use this site

This site is designed to support you at every stage of your change initiative. Use the navigation below to explore each phase of the framework. Each page provides a worksheet and links to additional resources.

Leading change requires several roles

Set your team up for success. Be clear about who plays what roles in your change initiative and who is responsible for what actions. When leading change, you might play more than one of these roles.

Sponsor - Sets direction and drives commitment

  • Defines the scope and allocates resources
  • Champions the change visibly and vocally

Change Manager - Helps people adopt, own and sustain the change

  • Develops messaging and strategic plans
  • Supports people through the emotional side of change

Project Manager - Manages the technical and operations side of change

  • Organizes workstreams and keeps teams aligned
  • Manages resources to stay on time, on scope and on budget

Change also affects individuals and teams. Other relevant roles include:

  • Influencer: A trusted person who shapes opinions and attitudes; helps build momentum and reduce resistance.
  • Stakeholder: An individual or group directly impacted by the change, whose support and engagement are essential for success.

Reflecting on Workplace Change – A guide for team members

Change can be challenging and helping your team effectively navigate it starts with reflection. This guide prompts team members to answer key questions to help them understand what’s changing, why it’s happening and how it impacts their roles. It also encourages them to explore their emotions, identify support resources and consider how they can contribute to the change process.

Encourage your team to use this reflection tool to:

✔ Gain clarity on workplace changes
✔ Identify their needs and concerns
✔ Find support and resources
✔ Commit to adapting and supporting their coworkers
