Testing and tracking your blood glucose levels is a crucial component of successful diabetes management, but it can sometimes be a costly and time-consuming manual process. Now, there’s a better way with Livongo. With Livongo, you’ll get a connected meter, unlimited strips, personalized insights, and live support after out-of-range readings at no cost to you.

Eligibility
Livongo is available to the following individuals enrolled in an IU-sponsored medical plan living with Type 1 or 2 diabetes:
- Full-time (75% FTE or greater) appointed Academic and Staff employees, medical and optometry residents, and student academic appointees; and
- Spouses and/or child(ren) age 13 or older.

Eligible participants can enroll in one of two ways by using the registration code IU:

All costs associated with the program are covered by Indiana University. Enrollment in the program is voluntary – if you choose not to enroll, you will continue to have the same medical and pharmacy coverage for all of your diabetes related care as you have had in the past.

Participants in the program receive:
- a cellular connected glucometer with charger and carrying case that:
- Uploads blood glucose readings automatically to your account
- Provides real-time trends, tips, and insights based on the reading
- Provides access to professional support for values that are outside of normal
- Can send notifications to loved ones for abnormal readings
- unlimited test strips
- unlimited lancets and a lancing device
- ordered supplies shipped to your home
- access to Certified Diabetes Educators (including real time support for extreme high and low readings)
- coaching anytime and anywhere (available 24/7 or you can schedule appointments; by email, phone, text, or mobile app)
- access to tools such as your blood glucose log and charts which can be shared with your provider and care team; or, reminders for self-care tests and exams, and supplies.

Can I enroll if I use an insulin pump?
Yes. Insulin pumps do not require a specific meter for them to function as designed. There are some insulin pumps that are integrated with specific meters so that the blood glucose reading can be automatically sent from the glucometer to the pump, however, insulin pumps allow for manual entry of blood glucose values from stand-alone meters such as the Livongo meter.
You will continue to use your current methods for obtaining supplies specific to your insulin pump, but you can join the Livongo Program and use the Livongo meter and receive the blood glucose checking supplies as a part of the program.
Can I enroll if I already use a continuous glucose monitor?
Yes. You can use the Livongo glucometer for your stand-alone glucometer readings and take advantage of receiving the blood glucose checking supplies, support, tools, education and other benefits of the program.
If you choose not to use the meter, you still have full access to all of the diabetes management products Livongo® offers (meter, coaching, free test strips/supplies, data).
What should I expect after I enroll?
Welcome Kit
A Livongo Welcome Kit will arrive to your home by mail a few days after enrollment, and will include your new Livongo glucometer, a charging cord for the meter, test strips, lancing device and supply of lancets, carrying case, and instructions to get you started.
Member Website & Mobile App
You will also receive access to the Livongo member website (my.livongo.com) where you can personalize the program, access your readings, order supplies, and more. You will also be able to download the Livongo app for convenient access to your blood glucose log, charts, tools, and other useful information.
How do I re-order strips and lancets?
Supplies are shipped right to your door. Participants can re-order supplies in four ways:
- Online, through the member website (my.livongo.com)
- Through the Livongo glucometer
- By using the Livongo mobile app
- By calling the Livongo Member Support Team at 1-800-945-4355
