You are automatically enrolled in benefits at the start of each spring and fall semester if you meet the following criteria:

  • Fellowship Recipients with an award of $6,750 or more each semester, Fall and/or Spring, and
  • Enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours, or G901 thesis/dissertation equivalent each semester (summer excluded).

Once your eligible fellowship award(s) is posted to your bursar account, and you enroll in at least 6 credit hours, you will receive an email at your IU email address notifying you of your automatic enrollment in IU benefits.
