Other Benefits Changes
You can enroll in or make changes to the benefit plans list below at any time during the year, and without experiencing an IRS-qualifying life event.
To enroll in or change your medical or dental coverage, critical illness insurance, supplemental AD&D insurance, or flexible spending accounts (FSAs) mid-year, you must experience an IRS-qualifying life event, such as marriage or the birth of a child. Visit the Life Events and Benefits Changes page for more information.

Health Savings Account
- Learn about the Health Savings Account (HSA)
- You can change, suspend, or stop HSA contributions at any time during the year by submitting an HSA Enrollment/Change Formor by submitting an online Optional Benefit Change through the Employee Center.
Note: If you enroll in the HSA or make changes to your coverage on or after October 1 you will not receive IU’s contribution (or an adjustment to IU’s contribution) for that year.
IU Tuition Benefit
The IU Tuition Benefit plan reduces the cost of IU courses for its employees and their dependents. Visit the IU Tuition Benefit page for full plan details and instructions to enroll.
Life Insurance
- Enroll in, change, or terminate your Supplemental Life Insurance coverage
- Change beneficiaries for your Basic or Supplemental Life Insurance
