Dear Colleagues,
I'm pleased to share some exciting news for full-time IU faculty and staff. Beginning in late March, employees and family members enrolled on an IU-sponsored medical plan will have access to employee health centers through Marathon Health, a leading provider of employer-sponsored healthcare.
The Marathon Health Network consists of eight health centers across Indiana — a new center opening in Bloomington and seven established centers in the Indianapolis area — as well as additional locations in other states. In-person appointments are available for a range of services including preventive and acute care, chronic condition management, lab services, health coaching, and mental/behavioral health counseling. Some services are also accessible through virtual visits with Marathon Health providers.
Members accessing Marathon Health will benefit from increased access to mental health services, reduced wait times for appointments, and a strong emphasis on wellness and prevention. Preventive care will continue to be available at no cost, while most other visits will cost just $35.
There is no requirement for employees to use Marathon Health; rather, it will be an additional resource to receive care. Marathon Health will be in-network for IU employee medical plans, meaning employees can use the health centers as their primary source of care, continue seeing providers in the community, or use the centers as needed for individual services.
During the coming weeks, you’ll receive additional information from the university and Marathon Health including health center locations and hours, as well as how to sign up for the online patient portal, schedule appointments, and access care. Be sure to watch your IU email and the IU Today for additional details as they become available. Updates and frequently asked questions will also be available on the IU Benefits website.
We’re thrilled to offer this additional resource for our employees to receive convenient, quality, affordable care, and look forward to the positive effects it will have on the health and mental well-being of our IU community.
Sincerely, | | |
