2019 Regional Supervisor Series
Talent & Organization Development is hosting the second year of the Regional Supervisor Series (RSS). This series is a development program designed to introduce leadership concepts, techniques, and principles in order to develop the skills of those who supervise and lead others.
The series is designed for individuals from the five regional campuses (East, Kokomo, Northwest, Southeast, and South Bend) who are:
- In an official supervisory/management role, or;
- Individuals who serve in a lead role overseeing the actions of others; or
- Those who train and provide staff consultation
All sessions meet on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. EST/8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. CST, with the exception of the Kick-off session and the Graduation. These two sessions will meet in-person on the IUPUI campus for an extended period of time.
Participants are required to attend all sessions; participants can miss only two sessions and still graduate. There is no cost to selected individuals or their department to attend the series; however, participants will be responsible for their travel to-and-from the Kick-off session and the Graduation.
Some courses may require pre-work and post-work. This includes, but is not limited to completing assessments, pre-reading, group work and self-reflection. It is imperative that participants complete the pre and post work for each session, where applicable.
Upon successful completion of the program, participants will have increased effectiveness in the following competencies: self-awareness, managing and building relationships, providing timely and effective communication, managing conflict, managing performance, dealing with change, demonstrating care for others, understanding the diversity of your team, and responding resourcefully to situations.
Application deadline is Friday, January 11, 2019.
