If I visit a walk-in location, how quickly will I be seen?
Depending on the number of people being served at the time of your visit, walk-in locations may require a wait time to see a provider.
What's the difference between same-day and urgent care?
Same-day, call-ahead appointments are for those who are sick or need care. Plan members can call a clinic of their choice to be scheduled in an open appointment spot (clinics may refer to the visit as “acute care” for the treatment of a routine illness or injury). Same-day, call-ahead appointments are covered by the health plan with standard copays and deductibles.
Urgent care is for patients who have a complex injury or illness that requires immediate care but is not serious enough to warrant a visit to an emergency department. Urgent care visits are covered by the health plan with standard copays and deductibles. Urgent care visits are typically higher cost than same-day or walk-in care copays.

If you are a current IU Health patient, you can schedule an IU Staff and Faculty Clinic appointment online. IU employees that are IU Health patients can also create an account can to access the online scheduling feature. If you have not used an IU Health provider or location in Indianapolis before, you will not be able to schedule online but you can call the clinic at 317-944-4025 to request an appointment.
What should I do if the MyIUHealth account won’t work?
The accounts are managed by IU Health. For questions about registering your account or accessing appointments, you may email (please only provide a summary of your concerns/questions, do not send personal health or billing information via email). Or, call IU Health Information Management at 317.963.1661 for assistance. Emails and phone calls are answered Monday-Friday from 8am - 5pm Eastern Time (excluding major holidays).
